Tips for a better photo
  • Daylight from a window beats flash. Flash flattens fur and makes eyes glow.
  • Get down to eye level with your pet. A photo taken from above makes the head look small.
  • Fill the frame: the face and shoulders should take up most of the picture.
  • Keep whiskers and ears inside the frame and in focus. Wait for a sharp shot, not a perfect pose.
  • One pet per photo gives the cleanest result. Use a second photo for another pet.

Choosing a photo

Choose the photo that looks most like them to you. It may be a candid one, mid-yawn or asleep in a sunny spot. A sharp face helps, but a photo that makes you smile is better than a technically perfect one. If the best photo is old or small, it will still work in the soft style; very small images under 300 pixels cannot be used.

Name and dates

The plaque holds a name and a line for dates, for example Biscuit and 2011 – 2025. You can type anything, such as Always loved. Both fields are optional and are drawn in your browser. They are never sent to the site.

What the soft style does

It fades the colours a little, adds a gentle glow, lightens the corners and sets the picture on a pale mat with a small plaque. It does not add wings, clouds or captions.

Privacy and no pressure

Your photo does not leave your device in this version. We will not send reminders. If you want the finished portrait later, there is one plain link to the plans, and nothing is charged now.

How do I make a memorial portrait of my pet?

Add a photo, keep the Memorial style and type the name and dates. The preview shows a soft portrait on a pale mat with a plaque.

Can I add my pet’s name and dates?

Yes, both are optional. They appear on the plaque. They are drawn in your browser and not sent anywhere.

Is my photo private?

The photo never leaves your device: it is not uploaded or stored on our servers. If full AI portraits open later, the privacy page will change before any upload happens.

Can I print a memorial portrait?

Not yet. The full-size portrait is not available yet (coming soon); it is planned for printing at home or at a print shop. The free preview is watermarked and small.

Is there pressure to buy?

No. The free preview is yours to keep, and there is a single link to the planned plans and waitlist if you want the full portrait when it launches.
